I'm questioning / My education

Is my own equation / Relevant somehow

As near as I can tell, each level of academia exists to insulate a segment of the population from the difficulties and intricacies of the next level. By the time students hit college, it becomes entirely possible to live out the entire year on campus, maintaining a comfortable lifestyle with a job at any of the various in-school retailers, barely venturing across the street to buy material goods. The disadvantages of this seem obvious to me; it fosters xenophobia and limits the real-world experience that tends to divide the capable from the outstanding.

But if North Korea launched nukes tomorrow, I know which self-sustaining institution I'd run to for cover.
