MEVO 2010: Olympic Checkup Breakdown!

Hello, sports fans! We begin our I-thought-it'd-be-halfway-but-it's-more-like-three-quarters look at hockey's best and brightest with the annual juxtaposing of outrage at Canadians being good at hockey versus apathy when other countries do it, this time courtesy of the women's teams. Interesting personal anecdote: looking at the women's Olympic rosters, a notable number of players for teams like Canada and the US come from university sports programs, whereas others such as China and Russia seem to be drawing their talent from franchise teams. Dare I suggest that our linking of education and sport gives us an appreciable advantage? We'll see what happens when Canada plays Sweden tomorrow.
